There are certain activites you’ll need to avoid prior to surgery for example smoking, the use of certain medications, tanning, etc. You will be provided a set of pre-operative instructions describing these things in detail and explaining how you should prepare for surgery.
It’s important to arrange for a responsible adult to be available to take you home after the surgery and stay with you the first night.
Day of Surgery
On the day of you’ll meet with Dr. Griner and the anesthesiologist prior to surgery. This is a good chance for any last minute questions. The actual surgery typically takes less than 2 hours. Afterwards you’ll be moved into your recovery room which will typically last 1 to 1 1/2 hours before you’ll be discharged.
Recovery from largely depends on the type of surgery. It can range from 1 to 2 weeks (with straight Liposuction) to as much as 6 weeks for “anchor-type” surgery. You’ll be provided with a detailed list activities to avoid and things to be aware of post surgery.
