Laser Hair Removal is a designed to reduce the growth of unwanted hair using specially designed lasers. The effectiveness of medical lasers in general, depends on the characteristics of the hair itself. In hair reduction, the target is melanin. Melanin makes the hair darker. So, for effective hair reduction, lasers that are absorbed by melanin are chosen. Gray or blonde hair is not usually treatable. Because our hair grows in several different stages, you will need anywhere from 3 to 10 treatments depending on the area being treated. These are done in intervals of 4 to 8 weeks.

Laser Hair Removal is a safe and effective way to reduce and eliminate unwanted hair.
Before Treatment
At least two weeks prior and after a treatment you should avoid tanning.
After Treatment
You might experience mild discomfort during treatment, but most patients handle laser hair removal easily. Treated areas may be a bit red or swollen, but you can return to normal activity right away.
Results
It will take up to 2 weeks for the hair to shed and you shouldn’t tweeze or wax hair, but you can shave.
Laser hair removal is a procedure done that removes hair from the body by using a long pulse laser. The heat from the laser disables the follicles from producing excess hair but since hair grows in cycles, multiple treatments or sessions may be required to disable the follicles in a particular area.
You may be able to experience sensations of itching, or see visible redness for up to three days. Swelling around the follicle can also be expected which usually lasts for 2 to 3 days.
Laser hair removal is often compared to waxing when it comes to pain levels. The pain you feel from a laser hair removal treatment resembles that of a rubber band snapping against the skin for a quick second or two. And while anesthetic creams aren’t always prescribed, it can be requested for one for more sensitive patients.
There really is no age limit when it comes to laser hair removal. But of course, you wouldn’t want a toddler to get this treatment done. Usually, however, patients from 13 years old and up are eligible to get laser hair removal. Patients with grey hair, however, do not often respond to the treatment well.
